FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is ayahuasca and how does it work?

Ayahuasca is a sacred brew used by indigenous tribes of the Amazon in spiritual and healing ceremonies. Known for its psychoactive properties, it combines the Banisteriopsis caapi vine with leaves from other plants. Ayahuasca facilitates a journey within, offering profound insights and enabling emotional and spiritual healing. Read more about it HERE.

Is Ayahuasca safe?

When conducted in a controlled, respectful environment under the guidance of experienced facilitators, ayahuasca is safe.

Who should not participate in an ayahuasca retreat?

Individuals with serious heart conditions, hypertension, psychiatric disorders like schizophrenia, or those who are pregnant should avoid ayahuasca. Pre-retreat medical consultation is mandatory to ensure everyone's safety.

What is the ayahuasca diet?
The ayahuasca diet involves adhering to a regimen of clean eating before participating in a ceremony. This includes avoiding processed foods, caffeine, alcohol, and drugs, as well as spicy and heavily seasoned foods. We also recommend avoiding pork, red meat, and sexual activity. Read more about it HERE.
What languages are spoken at the retreat, and is translation available?
At the retreat, both English and Spanish are spoken to accommodate a diverse group of participants. We provide simultaneous translation to ensure everyone feels included and can fully engage with the experience, regardless of their language proficiency.
What can I expect during the ceremony?

Experiences vary greatly, from profound visions and revelations to deep introspection. Emotional challenges are common, but facilitators will be there to offer support. Traditional live songs and chants (icaros) accompany the ceremony, guiding the spiritual journey.

How can I integrate the experience after the retreat?
Integration is a critical aspect of the healing process. After the retreat, it's key to take time to reflect on your experiences and apply the insights in your daily life. Participating in community-sharing sessions can be very beneficial. We organize a common group call post-retreat to integrate the experience and will be available for you if you need any support going back to life.
Is Ayahuasca legal in Europe?

In Spain, the private and spiritual consumption of Ayahuasca is allowed, permitting its use in non-commercial, private ceremonies. Recognizing its outstanding therapeutic benefits and deep-rooted cultural importance, the government of Peru has declared Ayahuasca a cultural heritage. On the contrary, countries such as Great Britain, Israel, France, and Russia have enforced bans on the use of Ayahuasca.
